For three weeks in the middle of their third year of study, our learners get the opportunity to experience what it's really like to be a concept artist in the film, game or animation industry. With no guide-rails, training wheels or lecturer support, they must impress mentors that work in the field every day by meeting deadlines, delivering epic concepts, and being a valuable team member.

A classroom can only ever teach a student so much. To ensure that nothing can take our 3rd year students by surprise once they enter the job market, they are sent to earn their stripes on live, studio internships.
For three weeks in the middle of their third year of study, these learners get the opportunity to experience what it's really like to be a concept artist in the film, game or animation industry. With no guiderails, training wheels or lecturer support, they must impress mentors that work in the field every day by meeting deadlines, delivering epic concepts, and being a valuable team member.
Every brief, assignment, presentation and lesson in the curriculum ultimately prepares these young creatives to step into the workplace. They head into their internship stints well prepared, with everything they will need to perform and excel. During this 'behind-the-scenes' look at what happens in the concept art departments for some of the biggest studios in South Africa, the final puzzle piece falls into place. They join meetings, learn from the professionals mentoring them, and sometimes even get to see the concepts they work on make it to the final launch!
This collaboration would not be possible without the legendary studios that we work with. Every year, they put in the work to prepare the next generation of creatives that will one day create the media we love. A special thanks to:
