Industry Professionals share their Knowledge with ADA Students

South Africa boasts with a range of incredible artists that have made a name for themselves in the local and international industries. Sharing their knowledge with the next generation is an essential part of how they give back, and ensure that the next generation are ready to carry the torch into the future – to new heights.

ADA prides itself in being a university that bridges the gap between studies and the world of work.  One of the many ways this is done is through guest lectures and industry talks, hosted by the artists that our students admire.

South Africa boasts with a range of incredible artists that have made a name for themselves in the local and international industries. Sharing their knowledge with the next generation is an essential part of how they give back, and ensure that the next generation are ready to carry the torch into the future – to new heights.

In the past few years we have hosted international legends like Danar Worya, who shared his experience of working on The Last of Us: Part II and Shazam!; as well as local pioneers like Stephen Kulp, who's character designs in David (2026) wow'ed audiences in a film that gained worldwide acclaim.

These talks range in topics, tackling questions our students need to answer in order to progress their professional careers. Kabelo Maaka joined us to share years of experience starting an indie animation studio, and how to manage the business side of the industry. Venus Bambisa gave our students advice on how to develop unique styles and stunning designs that rise above the repetitiveness of GenAI.  And Milo Cremer Eindoven from Submarine Studios shared with our students portfolio tips for how to get noticed in the international industry.

Beyond these names, we can only thank each artist that has taken time out of their busy schedules to share with our students, and we cannot wait to host more in the future! Special thanks to:
