3D Modelling & Animation

3D modelling and animation are some of the most in-demand and versatile skills in the creative industry — used in film, gaming, architecture, product design, and beyond. This hands-on 6-week course teaches you the fundamentals of 3D modelling, texturing, lighting, and animation using Blender, guided by an industry-experienced lecturer.

Build anything in three dimensions

3D modelling has transformed how industries visualise and create — from animated films and video games to architectural visualisations, product prototypes, and virtual reality experiences. In this course you’ll learn the foundational principles of 3D modelling and animation using Blender, one of the most powerful and widely-used 3D tools in the world. Starting with the Blender interface and basic object creation, you’ll progress through core modelling techniques, UV unwrapping, texturing with PBR materials, virtual lighting, atmosphere effects, and basic animation. The course is designed for complete beginners, building your skills systematically through the full 3D production pipeline. You’ll leave with a Certificate of Completion from the Academy of Digital Arts and a portfolio of 3D renders and animations.

What you'll learn

In this course you will learn the following skills:

  • The Blender interface: navigating 3D space, basic object creation and manipulation
  • Core modelling techniques: modelling from reference, different object types, modifiers and organic shapes
  • Advanced modelling: hard surface modelling, subdivision, topology principles and scene composition
  • Texturing: UV unwrapping, texture painting, PBR materials and material nodes
  • Lighting and animation: virtual lighting, atmosphere effects, keyframes, timeline and camera animation
  • Render settings, final scene setup, portfolio renders and animation export

How it works

The course runs from Monday to Wednesday from 6 pm to 8.30 pm.

Over the runtime of the course you will learn everything from scratch while being instructed by a lecturer.

After the course is finished you will receive a Certificate of Completion.

You will have your project work as part of your portfolio.
